Three weeks, two pairs of hands

What makes it special? The people behind it.

Each piece starts on a loom in the village it's named for, woven by the Lema family. Then Raquel and team cut and sew it into a jacket at her machine — about three weeks, start to finish.

The road to your closet

Three weeks. Two villages. One pair of hands at a time.

01

Woven as a blanket

Peguche · 2,500 m

The Lema family weaves each blanket on the same looms their grandparents worked, in the village this jacket is named for.

02

Cut & sewn by Raquel

Miranda · home studio

One blanket becomes one jacket. Raquel cuts around the pattern by eye — which is why no two are placed alike.

03

Buttons from the Amazon

Tagua nut · hand-carved

Amada carves each button from Tagua — vegetable ivory that grows back. The rainforest's answer to plastic.

The place in the name

Peguche is not a mood board. It's a village.

Fifteen minutes from the Otavalo textile market — the oldest in the Andes — Peguche has been a weaving town for longer than anyone's written records. Families work from home workshops beside the Peguche waterfall, and the sound of looms is part of the street noise. That's where your jacket started.

Signed work

Every piece leaves with its maker's name inside.

Fashion has a habit of making the hands disappear. We do the opposite: the label inside credits the artisan who made it — because a signed piece of work is a different kind of object. When you hand it down, the name goes with it.

I absolutely love my Peguche Jacket. The quality and design are beautiful, but what I love most is knowing the story and values behind it. Remu represents Ecuador in such a special way, while genuinely valuing local craftsmanship and the people who bring each piece to life. It makes me appreciate the jacket even more.

This jacket is absolutely beautiful and fits wonderfully. It’s perfect for the Fall weather in Canada. The customer service has been amazing for resolving an issue I had as well - I can’t say enough good things about Jose and this jacket.

Love the jacket but the sizing causes it to run small. Should have ordered an XL.

Worst customer service I have

Worst customer service I have ever had. I know this is a small business and dealing with new demand on their time and product, but all that was being asked was communication and clarification. Afer waiting 8 weeks for the product it unfortunately arrived and did not fit as described on the site. I am now in the process of trying to return the product for over a week with no response after mutiple attempts to contact to client support. Do better.

I love my jacket!

Super rad and comfy jacket. I’ve had mine for a few years. When I first got it, I wore it only for certain occasions, but now I wear it all the time. Very well made, and let’s be honest, these jackets are a vibe :sign_horns::skin-tone-3:

I ordered my beautiful Peguche

I ordered my beautiful Peguche Jacket but when it came in the sleeve length was at least 2” shorter than advertised and about 3. 5” shorter than needed. These are handmade pieces which I get variations but for the U. S. Market it’s not a good fit and they need to start working with more standard sizing. I’m 5’ 9. 5” and 128lbs, maybe my arms are just longer than normal? Not sure, I’ve submitted a request to return or have it adjusted and waiting on their response. The quality is solid and the style is super freaking awesome, just wish it actually fit.

This jacket is insane!!! First

This jacket is insane!!! First off, the customer service to get the correct size was fantastic. Secondly, this is to be the warmest softest wool I’ve ever worn. I was initially worried that it would be scratchy wearing a tshirt underneath but it is SOOO SOFT! Would buy it again in a second if lost or damaged

Great quality wool. Beautiful design.

Great quality wool. Beautiful design. My only thought was That I didn’t understand the lead time. It’s understandable since they are made with order. This was a gift for my son who lives in Denver and he loves it.
